Volodymyr Zelenskyy makes halting attacks on Russian refineries conditional on the delivery of Patriot missiles by the US

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that Ukraine is ready to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries for 30 days if the United States provides Kyiv with Patriot air defense systems. The statement was made in an interview with Fox News, amid calls by U.S. President Donald Trump to end reciprocal attacks on energy infrastructure.

Zelenskyy said that he had discussed halting attacks on energy facilities several times with Trump and his team. He argued that Ukraine cannot give up retaliating as long as Russia is striking its energy system and killing its population.

The leader in Kyiv proposed that Washington provide Patriot missiles for a period of 30 days, while Ukraine would suspend attacks on Russian refineries during the same period. Patriot systems are used to intercept missiles and drones.
