Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the decisions of the American administration and called on the United States to provide interceptor missiles to defend Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, in an interview with the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.

Zelensky said that he wants to maintain an “open, honest and pragmatic” relationship with Washington, but described as “deeply unfair” the situation in which Ukraine is prevented from retaliating against Russian attacks without receiving the means necessary to protect its population and infrastructure.

“I said that, if the Russians attack us and we cannot retaliate, it is unfair. But if you cannot stop Putin, at least give us the interceptor missiles we need to protect our energy infrastructure,” the Ukrainian president stated in an interview with the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.
