At the same time, Donald Trump insisted on the necessity for Zelensky to negotiate a peace agreement with Russia, stating that Vladimir Putin would be willing to reach a compromise. Trump emphasized that Zelensky is in a weaker position and that Russia would only accept peace if Ukraine gives up territories and its plans to join NATO. Zelensky specified that the assistance provided by Ukraine in combating Iranian drones will be conditioned on the fact that it will not weaken Ukraine's national defense and will support diplomatic efforts to stop the Russian invasion.
