The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Russia has earned approximately 10 billion dollars in two weeks, following the rise in oil prices, after the attacks in the Middle East. This amount represents 10% of Moscow's previous losses in oil trade. Zelensky emphasized that global sanctions and attacks on Russian energy infrastructure have led to an estimated deficit of over 100 billion dollars for Russia by 2026.
The rise in oil prices has been influenced by the US and Israel's attacks on Iran, which have affected production. Zelensky also warned that relaxing sanctions against Russia could be beneficial for Putin, considering that revenues from oil and gas are essential for the Russian economy.
