American President Donald Trump declared on Friday, during a joint conference with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, that "I would prefer that they do not need Tomahawk missiles, I would prefer that the war ends." Trump explained that supplying missiles to Ukraine could lead to an escalation of the conflict and emphasized that the United States must keep its complete stockpiles of weapons to protect its own security.

The American leader specified that his main desire is to reach an agreement that would put an end to the war, mentioning that he discussed for two hours with Vladimir Putin to seek solutions and that both he and Zelensky want the conflict to cease.
