The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, discussed a hypothetical scenario regarding the liberation of Belarus from the leadership of Alexander Lukashenko, emphasizing that, from the perspective of the economy and geopolitics, this would be a necessary measure. Although Ukraine has been a candidate for the EU since 2022, Belarus does not have the same status.

Zelensky acknowledged the influence of anti-European propaganda in Belarus, but emphasized that citizens are intelligent and that EU membership should be a choice of Belarusians. He accused Belarus of allowing the launch of Russian drones and preparing for the deployment of Russian hypersonic missiles. Zelensky mentioned that Ukraine will take measures against Lukashenko and will seek sanctions from the United States.
