General Ghenadii Shapovalov has been appointed commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian ground forces by President Zelenski, following the resignation of General Mihailo Drapatii, following a Russian attack that killed 12 people. Zelenski emphasized the need for changes in the army, given that the conflict with Russia has been going on for more than three years. Russian forces continue to advance and peace talks are stalled.
