Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has suggested that starvation of more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza could be 'just and moral' until hostages held by Hamas are released. His statements were condemned by the European Union, Britain and Germany, among others, which have emphasized that deliberate starvation of civilians is a war crime.
