Viktor Orban will discuss Hungary's supply of oil and natural gas, considering the country's dependence on Russian energy, despite the European Union's efforts to reduce this dependence. Orban also mentioned that peace efforts in Ukraine will be on the agenda of discussions, in the context of Russia recently receiving a peace plan from the USA and Ukraine.
Hungary has obtained a waiver from sanctions to continue energy imports from Russia and has signed a cooperation agreement in the field of nuclear energy with the United States. Orban emphasized the importance of ensuring energy supply for winter and next year, while calling on European leaders to support the peace plan proposed by the USA, which is perceived as favorable to Moscow.
