The Italian fashion brand Versace announced on December 4 the departure of its creative director, Dario Vitale, less than nine months after taking over the role from Donatella Versace. The decision was made public two days after the Prada group completed the acquisition of Versace. The company stated that Vitale and Versace 'mutually agreed to part ways starting December 12', promising to announce a new creative leader soon.
Vitale took on the role on April 1, coming from Prada's Miu Miu brand, where he recorded a 93% increase in sales. Versace thanked Vitale for his remarkable contribution during this transition period. The acquisition of Versace by Prada, announced in April, was recently completed, aiming to revitalize the brand that had faced difficulties under previous leadership.
