American Vice President J. D. Vance stated on Wednesday that Iranian leaders have the responsibility to decide whether the ceasefire with the United States will fail due to the conflict in Lebanon.
J. D. Vance, who will lead an American delegation in negotiations with Iran in Pakistan, emphasized that a ceasefire in Lebanon is an essential condition for Iran, according to its negotiation plan. He warned that if Iran chooses to allow the negotiations to fail due to a foreign conflict, it would be a "foolish" choice.
The President of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accused the United States of violating key points of the negotiation plan, including the continuation of hostilities in Lebanon and the refusal to allow Iran to enrich uranium. Vance questioned Ghalibaf's linguistic competencies, suggesting that some of his statements do not make sense in the context of the negotiations.
