Washington and Moscow have agreed to a meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska on August 15 to discuss the war in Ukraine. The White House is considering inviting Ukrainian President Zelenski, but has not confirmed his presence. Zelenski has warned that ceding territory to Russia would lead to a new invasion. NATO leaders emphasize that Ukraine must be involved in negotiations and Europe demands a ceasefire before any ceding of territory. European officials want Ukraine's future to be decided in cooperation with Kiev, rejecting Putin's proposals to cede territory.
