The Trump administration has said it will not accept the International Maritime Organization's 'Net-Zero Framework' proposal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from shipping. US officials have warned that they will seek international support against the plan and will not tolerate actions that increase costs for citizens and companies. Although many shipping companies have pledged to cut emissions, the US has pulled out of the IMO negotiations and the Paris agreement, maintaining a firm stance against strict regulations.
