After a drone was shot down by F-16 planes in Ankara, another unidentified drone fell in a rural area of the İzmit district, Kocaeli. The drone, with a wingspan of approximately two and a half meters, was spotted by a citizen working in the field who informed the authorities. Intervention teams began an investigation, finding that the drone had red markings in the shape of a star.
The incident is the second related to drones in Turkey this week, following the downing of another drone near Cankiri. In the past, debris from an Orlan-10 drone, manufactured in Russia, was discovered in Turkey, linked to the conflict in Ukraine. The Ministry of National Defense stated that identifying the downed drone is difficult due to its altitude and size, and search efforts continue.
