Andrea Orcel mentioned that UniCredit could consider selling its 26% stake in Commerzbank, in the event that an offer from outside the European Union would be advantageous for shareholders. Although UniCredit has tried to consolidate its shareholding and propose a merger, the management of Commerzbank has opposed it, and the German state, which holds 12% of the bank, does not support a takeover. Orcel emphasized that his goal remains to build a stronger bank in Europe.
