On February 11, 2026, a Ukrainian drone attack caused a significant fire at the Lukoil oil refinery in Volgograd, Russia, leading to the suspension of oil processing activities. A key unit, CDU-1, which represented 40% of the refinery's capacity, was damaged. Although attacks on Russian energy infrastructure had decreased in January, their intensity has recently increased. Additionally, Ukrainian forces have carried out drone attacks on other targets in Russia, including a refinery in the Komi Republic. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the effectiveness of the drones, noting that over 800,000 Russian troops have been destroyed in the past year. These attacks come amid an escalation of the conflict, with significant losses on both sides.
