Ukraine is set to sign an agreement with the US to set up a joint fund dedicated to investing in natural resources, strengthening the economic partnership

The agreement, finalized and scheduled for signature, will facilitate increased investment in mining, energy and related technologies in Ukraine. The US and Ukraine will work together to avoid conflicts with Kiev's ambitions to join the European Union. The agreement aims to strengthen the strategic partnership and will allow the US to get first dibs on profits from an investment fund earmarked for Ukraine's reconstruction. US and Ukrainian officials are also continuing to finalize its technical details.
