Heorhii Tykhyi, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian diplomacy, stated that Ukraine's defense forces did not deliberately direct any drone towards Bulgaria, following the explosion of a drone near the border.

Tykhyi emphasized that such incidents are the result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which threatens not only Ukraine but also other nations. He highlighted the importance of quickly ending the war to ensure regional security.

The incident occurred after a drone, likely a "Maya" decoy used by Ukraine, exploded near a gas compression station. The Bulgarian Ministry of Defense confirmed that there is no evidence that the incident was intentional, and an investigation is underway.

The Romanian Ministry of Defense stated that it did not detect any suspicious aerial activity before the explosion and that it is in contact with Bulgarian authorities to provide assistance.
