Ukraine attacked an important oil refinery in Moscow on Thursday morning, located in the Kapotnia district, for the second time this week, according to Russian officials. The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, stated that over 60 drones heading towards the capital were shot down.

A video recording captured an explosion at the refinery, generating dense smoke and significant damage. The attack occurred after a similar incident on Tuesday, which led to the shutdown of the refinery's operations. Additionally, an apartment building in Zhukovsky was damaged, but no casualties were reported. In the Rostov region, another attack resulted in the death of one civilian and injured two others.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that these attacks are part of a strategy to force Russia to end the war. Although Russia is facing sanctions and a decline in oil revenues, the Ukrainian attacks have severely impacted energy infrastructure, causing shortages in Crimea.
