The attack took place on August 20, near the occupied town of Zaliznyi Port, and was carried out with a missile guided by a drone-operated laser-guided missile system. Zaliznyi Port, now under Russian control, was a popular tourist destination before the occupation. Ukraine has demonstrated its ability to use laser technology to hit Russian targets, continuing a series of attacks on the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, including the destruction of the cruiser Moskva.
