The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Gheorghi Tihii, stated that no Ukrainian drone was directed towards Finland, suggesting that the crashes could be the result of interference caused by Russian electronic warfare systems.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with his Finnish counterpart, Alexander Stubb, to discuss the incident. Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo mentioned that the drones could be Ukrainian, involved in attacks on Russian infrastructure, and the Finnish police confirmed that one of the drones was carrying an unexploded payload, which was detonated in a controlled manner. Finland remains an important ally of Ukraine in the context of the Russian invasion.
