In the aftermath, the city of Kagoshima experienced severe flooding, with streets and homes inundated. Although the typhoon quickly became a tropical storm, the damage was significant and the authorities temporarily suspended Shinkansen trains. Weather forecasters warned residents to be vigilant for landslides and flooding.
