Typhoon Danas hit Taiwan, causing heavy rain, flooding and landslides. Two people died and 491 were injured. The storm knocked out power to nearly 500,000 households and left 388,000 without electricity. Nearly 3,500 people were evacuated and 33 international flights were canceled. Taiwan frequently experiences tropical storms, but climate change is intensifying these phenomena.
