Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated on Monday that Poland will continue to seek an alliance with the USA based on "respect and predictability," after Washington suspended the transfer of 4,000 American soldiers to Poland. Tusk emphasized that Poland will not accept to be treated "on its knees," but will remain with "its head held high."
In a press conference, he stated that there is no alternative to cooperation with the USA and reminded that Poland is a loyal ally. Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz added that Washington's military reorganization should not affect Poland, which is significantly investing in the American military presence.
Polish officials have also expressed their concern regarding the lack of transparency in managing this situation. Discussions between Polish and American officials are scheduled to clarify the situation.
