Turkey recently announced the development of the Yildirimhan intercontinental ballistic missile, capable of reaching a range of up to 6,000 kilometers, thus highlighting its ambitions for military autonomy and the expansion of strategic influence. This technological achievement is not just a simple weapon, but a geopolitical signal in a tense region, according to IDA.

The missile can cover vast areas of Europe, Asia, and Africa, changing the global perception of Ankara's defense policy, which is becoming a player with significant strike capability. Defense Minister Așar Güler emphasized that recent transformations are influenced by global conflicts, and Turkey aims for a strategy of total autonomy in the defense sector. Although it remains a NATO member, the rapid development of military armament raises questions about its position in the alliance.
