Turkish authorities have expanded operations against the Islamic State (IS) group following a shooting attack in Yalova, which resulted in the deaths of nine people, including three police officers. The interior minister announced the detention of 357 suspects in 21 provinces, following alerts about possible New Year's attacks. The raids took place a day after the confrontation in Yalova, where police intervened in a hideout of IS militants. The detained suspects are linked to planned attacks and fundraising for IS networks in Syria. Although IS has lost territorial control, the group continues to carry out attacks in Turkey and other regions.
