Turkey has announced the purchase of 20 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from the United Kingdom, in a contract valued at 8 billion pounds (10.7 billion dollars), thus strengthening ties with NATO allies and enhancing air defense. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, on a visit to Turkey, signed the agreement with President Erdogan, calling this moment "historic." Turkey also intends to purchase 12 Typhoon aircraft from Oman and Qatar to meet its immediate needs.
