Donald Trump is intensifying attacks on the American electoral system, wanting to take control of the organization of elections at the state level and entrust it to federal authorities.
In a podcast, Trump stated that intervention should occur in at least 15 locations, mentioning cities run by Democrats, such as Detroit and Philadelphia, where he raised concerns about the accuracy of vote counting. The Constitution provides that states have the prerogative to organize elections, and legal experts emphasize that the decentralization of the electoral process is an anti-corruption measure. Trump continues to assert that the 2020 elections were fraudulent, despite the confirmation of the legitimacy of the vote by the courts.
Steve Bannon confirmed that ICE agents will be present at polling places in November, raising concerns about a possible federal intervention in the elections.
