President Donald Trump visits Mount Rushmore on Friday to mark 250 years of independence of the USA, before a speech on the National Mall

On Friday, President Donald Trump is making a visit to Mount Rushmore, a national symbol in South Dakota, where the heads of four American presidents are sculpted, as part of the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence. This trip precedes a major event scheduled for Saturday evening, when Trump will deliver a speech in front of the crowd on the National Mall, followed by a fireworks display. On Wednesday, Trump visited the museum dedicated to Theodore Roosevelt, highlighting the similarities with this historical leader. At Mount Rushmore, Trump will give a speech and attend a fireworks show, despite the fire risks caused by drought. Trump has also previously expressed a desire to have his own likeness sculpted on the mountain, but no efforts have been initiated in this regard. It is expected that Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum will be present at the event. Trump will travel by plane from Qatar, a gift received for use as Air Force One.
