American President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that the war in Ukraine is nearing its end, expressing his belief that there will be an agreement between Russia and Ukraine. His comments were made during a visit to China, similar to those of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In contrast, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia does not intend to end the conflict, preparing for new attacks. Trump had previously attempted to mediate negotiations between the warring parties, but without success. Russia, which controls a significant part of Ukrainian territory, demands the cession of territories, while Kyiv is calling for the withdrawal of Russian troops.
The Kremlin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Russia would accept additional mediation efforts from the U.S.
