Donald Trump was ordered to pay more than 5 million dollars to E Jean Carroll, after a jury decided that he sexually abused her and defamed her.
Carroll's attorney, Roberta Kaplan, confirmed that the payment was made, after Trump attempted to delay the process to ask the Supreme Court to reexamine the case. Carroll, now 82 years old, accused Trump of attacking her in the 1990s in a fitting room of a store in Manhattan and later defaming her on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Although Trump denied the allegations, a jury in New York ruled in favor of Carroll in 2023. Trump's lawyers contested the judge's decision, calling the case a "farce" and a "witch hunt" funded by Democrats.
