Beatrice Keul, a Swiss woman originally from Bern, accuses Donald Trump of raping her in 1993 in an apartment at the Plaza Hotel in New York. Democrats on the U.S. House Judiciary Committee made public a report based on discussions with the woman, and she told Blick that she intends to sue him.
According to her account, Keul was 24 and had participated in beauty pageants when she was allegedly invited to an event organized by Trump. She claims that one of his representatives led her to a hotel room, where the magnate allegedly sexually assaulted her and later asked her to remain silent.
The allegations cannot be independently verified. The White House rejected them, stating that “none of these allegations is true.” Keul says she also received a threatening phone call, which is why she fears for her family’s safety.
The alleged acts are subject to the statute of limitations, but the woman’s lawyers hope New York will adopt a law temporarily reopening the possibility of civil lawsuits, modeled on the Adult Survivors Act. Keul also spoke publicly about the incident in 2024, but at the time she reported only that Trump had allegedly kissed and groped her against her will.
