According to AP, Donald Trump stated that, although Iran wants to reach an agreement, the leadership in Tehran is disorganized and confused. The comments were made in the context where Iran sent a new proposal through mediators in Pakistan, in efforts to relaunch diplomatic discussions. Negotiations continue through phone channels, after Washington canceled a trip by envoys to Pakistan. Although a fragile ceasefire has been maintained, both sides accuse each other of violations. Tensions remain high around the Strait of Hormuz, where American ships impose restrictions on the transport of Iranian oil, affecting Tehran's economy. The Iranian proposal includes postponing discussions on the nuclear program, a sensitive topic for Washington, which justified military intervention by the need to prevent the development of nuclear weapons by Iran. The conflict, which began at the end of February, has had a significant impact on the global economy, disrupting energy transport and increasing oil prices.
