American President Donald Trump launched a vehement attack on German Chancellor Friedrich Merz after he stated that Iran "humiliates" the US in negotiations to end the war.

Merz claimed that Americans do not have a clear strategy regarding Iran, which prompted Trump to respond on his Truth Social platform, stating that Merz "doesn't know what he's talking about." Trump emphasized that if Iran were to obtain a nuclear weapon, the entire world would be held hostage and mentioned that he is currently working to address this issue.

Merz's comments highlighted the divisions between Washington and European allies, which have deepened due to the conflict in Ukraine and other international issues.
