Trump took this opportunity to argue that the cession of the islands is an additional reason for the United States to take over Greenland, emphasizing that Russia and China are observing this weakness. On his Truth Social platform, he criticized the United Kingdom's decision, stating that the cession of important territories is a "great folly" and a threat to national security.
