U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that he would consider those who use the phrase “artificial intelligence” instead of the term “Super Intelligence,” promoted by his administration, to be “enemies.” Trump did not specify what this threat would entail.
“The White House considers anyone who uses the term ‘artificial intelligence’ instead of the new, widely accepted and more precise term ‘super intelligence’ to be an ENEMY,” the president wrote on the Truth Social platform.
The statement came after Trump signed an executive order last week officially requiring the use of the term “Super Intelligence” in future communications by the U.S. administration concerning artificial intelligence. The president claims that the new name has a more positive connotation and “sounds much better.”
The requirement does not apply to the private sector, but some companies have already adopted the term. Meta, Mark Zuckerberg’s company, uses it in its communications, while Elon Musk has used the phrase “Super Intelligence” in messages posted on the X network.
The change comes amid growing concerns in the United States about the security of artificial intelligence models. The debate is primarily political and is part of Trump’s effort to present the technology in a favorable light. The U.S. president has also changed established names, renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.”
