American President Donald Trump has asked the Department of Justice to release documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, accusing the Democrats of colluding with the sex offender. In a post on his Truth Social network, Trump condemned the recent revelations that contain references to him, including details about flights on Epstein's private plane. He stated that the Democrats are the ones who should be exposed and criticized an alleged "witch hunt" against him. Although Trump was previously friends with Epstein, he distanced himself from him after the disclosure of his crimes. The Department of Justice has begun to release documents related to Epstein, but has delayed meeting a deadline, citing victim protection. In Trump's defense, the Department stated that the documents contain false accusations and that, if they had been credible, they would have been used against him in the 2020 elections.
