US President Donald Trump has called for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to pardon or quash his corruption trial. Netanyahu, accused of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, denies the charges. Trump has praised Netanyahu's contributions to the state of Israel, suggesting the US could intervene on his behalf. Although Israeli President Isaac Herzog has the authority to pardon him, Israel's president, Isaac Herzog, has said he has received no such request. Trump described the allegations as a "witch hunt" similar to his legal experiences.
