The President of the USA, Donald Trump, launched an attack on European leaders, mocking French President Emmanuel Macron and criticizing the NATO alliance during a private lunch at the White House. In a video temporarily published on the White House's YouTube channel, Trump stated that NATO allies have not sufficiently supported the military efforts of the USA, suggesting that Washington had to act on its own. Trump also made ironic remarks about Macron's wife, Brigitte, referring to an incident from 2025 when a video surfaced in which she seemed to hit the French president. Trump recounted an alleged exchange with Macron about military support in the Gulf, imitating his French accent and questioning NATO's role in a potential major conflict, labeling the organization a "paper tiger." Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested that the United States might reconsider its relationship with NATO after the conclusion of the war against Iran.
