Donald Trump has announced substantially increased tariffs on imports from India in response to Russian oil trade. As of August 7, India will face tariffs of 25%, plus an unspecified penalty on purchases of Russian goods and weaponry. Although India plans to continue buying oil from Russia, the Indian government has emphasized that it will take measures to protect its national interests in the context of trade negotiations with the US.
