Officials intend to open a case against James Comey, on the grounds that he may have lied to lawmakers during his testimony on September 30, 2020, regarding the investigation into the links between Russia and Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. The statute of limitations is soon to expire, and the Department of Justice may seek an indictment. If prosecuted, Comey would become the first high-ranking official charged in connection with this investigation.
