TikTok has announced the formation of a new joint venture, TikTok US, following agreements with major investors such as Oracle, Silver Lake, and MGX from the United Arab Emirates. This new entity will operate with guarantees aimed at protecting national security, including user data protection, algorithm security, and content moderation. American users will continue to use the existing TikTok application. President Donald Trump praised the agreement, thanking Chinese leader Xi Jinping for the collaboration. Adam Presser, former head of TikTok operations, will lead the new company, which will have a majority American board of directors. The agreement ends the uncertainty regarding the platform's future in the US, in the context of a law that could have led to a ban on TikTok if it did not find a new owner.
