According to Kpler data, three Iranian tankers, 'Deep Sea', 'Sonia I' and 'Diona', crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, April 15, despite the sanctions imposed by the U.S. These ships departed from Kharg Island, which represents Iran's largest oil terminal, responsible for approximately 90% of the country's oil exports. This action comes after the failure of direct negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, which led to the imposition of a naval blockade by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Although Washington claims that the blockade is being strictly enforced, several ships have continued to cross the strait. Since the beginning of March, at least 37 Iranian tankers have transferred cargoes in the Singapore area, with final destinations mostly in Chinese ports. The location of these three tankers is not available, as they have turned off their transponders, but Kpler has confirmed that they transited the strait.
