The Institute for Religious Works (IOR) of the Vatican reported a profit of 51 million euros for the year 2025, an increase of 55% compared to the previous year, due to active management and favorable market conditions. The Cardinals' Commission approved the distribution of a dividend of 24.3 million euros to Pope Leo XIV, highlighting the Institute's mission to support religious and charitable works. The mandate of IOR President Jean-Baptiste Douville de Franssu is coming to an end, being replaced by François Pauly.
IOR has increased managed funds to 5.9 billion euros, and net assets have reached 815.3 million euros. The relationship with religious congregations has strengthened, and IOR has been recognized as a trusted partner. The reform initiated by Pope Francis has transformed IOR into an institute dedicated to religious works, with a focus on responsibility and transparency in fund management. The apostolic letter 'Coniuncta Cura' established new principles of co-responsibility in the financial investments of the Holy See.
