U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has decided to revert to using the 'Times New Roman' font for drafting official documents, thus canceling the previous change made by the Biden administration, which had adopted the 'Calibri' font to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. Rubio labeled the 'Calibri' font as a 'wasteful' diversity measure, arguing that the lack of decorative lines at the ends of letters can confuse visually impaired individuals. In a telegram addressed to American diplomatic missions, he argued that the 'Calibri' font is informal and affects the professionalism of official documents. Therefore, Rubio called for an urgent return to 'Times New Roman' as the standard to restore decency and professionalism in official documents.
