The US intelligence community has announced that China does not intend to invade Taiwan by 2027 and seeks to control the island without resorting to force. This assessment appears in an annual report on global threats, in the context of which Beijing has intensified pressure on Taiwan through frequent military maneuvers. Although the Pentagon previously suggested that China could be prepared to win a fight for Taiwan by 2027, the report emphasizes that Chinese leaders do not have a fixed timeline for unification.
