NASA recently presented its plans to send humans to the Moon, aiming to establish a permanent presence on Earth's satellite by the 2030s. This initiative comes in the context of China advancing its own lunar ambitions, having recently launched three astronauts into space.

In an interview, Sharon Gaffney from FRANCE 24 discussed with Michelle L. D. Hanlon, Executive Director of the Center for Air and Space Law at the University of Mississippi, about the implications of this growing competition between the two superpowers in the field of space exploration. This race for lunar exploration highlights not only technological advancements but also the geopolitical rivalry between the USA and China.
