A video generated by artificial intelligence, posted on the X account of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, has sparked outrage and online criticism. The clip features men singing a corrido with the message 'return to your roots', encouraging migrants to 'self-deport'. The post includes a link to CBP Home, a site that helps migrants return to their countries of origin. Social media users criticized the message, deeming it supremacist and offensive. Uruguayan-American influencer Carlos Eduardo Espina reacted, calling the video 'ridiculous'. This is not the first controversy related to messages from American authorities aimed at migrants, reminiscent of similar campaigns in the past.
