A CNN analysis reveals that the United States military has exhausted nearly 80% of its THAAD interceptors and 50% of its Patriot missiles during the conflict with Iran. Other American military officials have indicated that the Pentagon's ammunition reserves are at a 'dangerously low level'.
According to estimates from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), before the conflict, the U.S. had approximately 2,200 Patriot missiles and 452 THAAD missiles. The military has also used nearly all of its long-range precision missiles, including ATACMS and Precision Strike Missile (PrSM).
The reserves of Tomahawk cruise missiles have also been significantly reduced.
Analysts emphasize that replenishing these reserves may take years, with limited deliveries of new missiles. Experts warn that this lack of armament could affect not only U.S. capabilities against Iran but also the management of other conflicts with adversaries such as China, Russia, or North Korea.
