The British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Monday, during London Tech Week, a strategy based on a commitment of 400 million pounds for the acquisition of specialized chips for artificial intelligence.

This measure is part of a broader plan to strengthen the computing capacity of the United Kingdom, which includes the development of a national supercomputer for artificial intelligence by 2030, estimated at 750 million pounds.

Of the total budget, 400 million pounds will be allocated for next-generation chips, and 150 million pounds for inference chips, which will be purchased from British companies.

Additionally, a fund coordinated by Playground Global will invest in British AI hardware companies, with a contribution of up to 150 million pounds from the British Business Bank.

The government will also launch an innovation program in AI hardware, valued at 120 million pounds, and will allocate 45 million pounds for the development of skills in the field, totaling 80 million pounds for the training of specialists.
